There is a new knitting podcast!  “Get Knit Done” from The Loveliest Yarn Company (yarn and pattern company in the UK)

I was listening to the I thought I knew how podcast (episode 50) and for last year she saved all of the yarn labels of the skeins she completed and made a paper chain of them!  I’m totally doing this!  Anyone want to join me?  Join me on the forum! Ravelry Link

Updates

What’s Brewing

(Current projects/ cast ons)

Jess:

Halfway done with Corrosion Cowl. Still working on the Relentless Shawl (which is even more massive than last time). Cast on Speckled Space Socks by Amanda Stephens–first pair of socks I’ve successfully gotten started two at a time. Cast on Mebonden mittens by Skeindeer knits–first project that is almost entirely stranded colorwork. Have the Koala hat washed, pommed, and blocked (ended up using faux fur poms purchased on etsy from NaptimeKnitterDesign–love them, do recommend). I still need to grab gauge from it for the City Limits sweater so I can get that on the needles.

Dissent Pullover – Andrea Rangel – I am being more monogamous on this sweater than I have been on anything in a long time

I will say that I am absolutely loving the yarn I’m working with from Tactile Dactyl https://www.etsy.com/shop/TactileDactyl

These are sitting on the back burner –

Comfort Fade Cardi – Andrea Mowry

Ottomania Throw aka my Adventomania Wrap – Mark Roseboom

Kitchen Table Project: Dumpster Fire 2020 by Kino Knits.
Various super value worsted acrylic yarns, I think it’s mostly red heart.  Using blue,  purple, or Green for the dumpsters and Red, Orange, and Yellow and at least one Black, Blue, and White for the flames.  Yellow for the “2020”. Using US 2, 2.75 mm needle, I think its 40 inches.  I think on straights (10 inch) one could do 3 dumpsters at a time. Planning on making 22 unless I think of more people to add to the list! The pattern calls for duplicate stitch but I switched to stranded after the first one.  I’m knitting multiple at a time.  The yellow number yarn is 66 inches long. Ravelry Link

Hangovers

(Knitting Disasters)

Jess: Minor Issue, may run out of my burgundy color for the Relentless shawl. Bought a replacement as mentioned in stash enhancements

Quote of the episode:

When I’m sometimes asked when will there be enough women on the Supreme Court? And I say ‘when there are nine,’ people are shocked. But there’d been nine men, and nobody’s ever raised a question about that.” – Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Goals!

Big Goal: Wrangle Ravelry!!!

Previous Episode Goal is also our current goal! (Update/Organize Stash and Handspun)

Caitlyn

Done, I’m happy with it!  I purchased 2, 3 drawer organizers and now I can see everything because it’s mostly one or two layers of yarn on each drawer.  Organized by size except all the cotton is in it’s own section cones are in a storage container and the balls in a drawer.

I’m not dating everything I buy on the yarn label so I know how long I’ve had something.  Whenever I use a ball I weigh it after and add that to the label.

Forgot to say in episode 5 that I have a tote dedicated to sweater quantities

Jess I made very little progress, but I did move most of my yarn to the same room, so it’s a start.
